Platform-reported ROAS over-credits conversions due to different attribution windows and view-through counting. After iOS 14.5, Meta uses 7-day click + 1-day view attribution by default. Multiple channels (Meta + Google) can claim the same order. Shopify Analytics uses last-click attribution, which is more conservative. Always treat Shopify order data as source of truth — use platform ROAS as a directional signal only.
ROAS = Revenue ÷ Ad Spend. It measures gross revenue efficiency of advertising. ROI = (Net Profit ÷ Total Cost) × 100. It measures true profitability after all costs.
